_Day 105 - 27 September - 176 Miles
_The Road
From beginning this trip feeling like “Easy Rider” to the “Mad Bomber” riding I-95 in the rain, the change in consciousness was amusing! Pulling off occassionally when the rain came down heavy, and venturing back into the wet when it slacked off, it’s amazing I covered as much ground as I did. The Parks The goal for the day had been Medoc Mountain State Park in North Carolina. It seemed pointless in this rain. Lodging Rosie agreed. By 5 pm she was acting up, one cylinder cutting in and out. I was praying she was just sick of the wet! A sign on the highway advertised $35 rooms at the Interstate Inn in Weldon. There was a Waffle House across the street and gas right out front. The weather report is broadcasting flood and tornado warnings, with heavy rains coming up from the Caribbean. There may be no getting south of this. |
