_Day 30 - 14 July - 343 Miles
Upper Delaware SRR - Allegheny State Park
_The Parks
The Upper Delaware Visitor Center was closed, but we found the Ranger Headquarters and were able to obtain the needed park stamps. The Road Giving up the scenery of Route 97 along the Delaware River for the higher speeds of Route 17 (aka I-86) was an unavoidable necessity. We’re supposed to be in St. Francis SD on the 18th and we have several parks to visit on our way out. A few spots of heavy rain slowed us up a little. Lodging We pitched the tent in the dark at Allegheny State Park. The camp store offered very little by way of food and was well overpriced. Bologna sandwiches kept us through the night. At least there was hot coffee in the morning! |
