_Day 61 - 14 August - 293 Miles
Lincoln Highway
_The Road
The miles clicked by on I-74 to Indianapolis, where we finally met someone as packed out as we are! He had come across Death Valley on his way to set up a new shop with a friend. Once around the city, we picked up US-40 into Ohio, then down US-35 to Washington Court House. The Parks The original plan was to traverse southern Indiana to visit the George Rogers Clark NHP in Vincennes and Lincoln’s Boyhood Home in Lincoln City. In an effort to be in New Jersey for the birthday of Thom’s youngest, we cut out the additional miles this would have added. Lodging It took from Jeffersonville to Washington Court House to find a reasonable place to stay, within our budget. We happened upon the City Motel by accident while trying to find our way back to US-35. The owner was very friendly and pleasant while bringing a different television to the room to replace the one not working properly, although it was quite late by that time. Bikers welcome. |
