_The Parks
We checked in at the Oconoluftee Visitor Center to pick up our stamps and maps on our way into Cherokee since this was a maintenance day and that would help us get an early start on the Blue Ridge Parkway in the morning. The Road Rosie decided to leave her left signal on, not blinking, just on! Like Gatlinburg H-D, Cherokee H-D was a Motor Clothes boutique! Useless for what we need! Onward to Bryson City where the guys at Mountain Auto Electric were able to set Rosie up with an Interstate Battery and check her charging system, A-OK. Riverside Grill cooked us a couple fantastic Burgers (fast food just can’t compare) while we took a moment to relax. Lodging Fortunately my Friends in Cherokee were home rather than at a Pow Wow someplace. A warm welcome, good food, a place to work on Rosie, and a comfortable bed were waiting for us. A few phone calls to other friends helped troubleshoot Rosie’s signal issue. I had anticipated being here on Sunday to sweat, which means we are three days behind schedule already, but then we delayed leaving Louisiana by two days putting us behind before we started. I was hoping to make New Hampshire by the 1st, but as long as we reach New York by the 3rd it will be ok. |
