Nick’s Cycle Museum - Smithville
_The Road
With a couple thousand miles still ahead, it was prudent for Rosie to get new rear brakes. That took us to Nick’s Cycle Shop and Museum. If you want it, check with Nick! The Parks In the early 20th century, Smithville was built as a model village to improve conditions for the workers. Lodging With Thom safely home with his family in Mt. Holly, and Rosie checked over, I am continuing from this point solo. Since my first cross-country trip alone at the age of 19, traveling by myself has not bothered me. The primary difference between excitement and anxiety is perspective; eager anticipation or fear? Past experience has shown me there is no more to fear on the road than there is close to home. I will miss the companionship though! Thom is upset with not finishing the ride as scheduled. He has until June to finish the IBA National Parks Tour, more than enough time for him to heal first. |
