It's been a while since I actually called him that. "Aye. Aye! Captain!" Jack always knew what to do. He always had the answers ... or found them. Charlie phrased it, "1-800-CALLJACK." As much as we all were coming here to help him, expecting my mom to pass, we were also counting on him to have everything figured out and just tell us what needed to be done. He's not here, and his passing has left us so much to figure out in regards to my mom.
I sit here, in their RV, in their home, and remember. It doesn't matter if it is parked at Three Flags, Accord, Kerhonkson ... where ever. This has been their house for most of their 15 year marriage.
The boys say there was another motorhome between this one and the El Dorado (the one Jack had when they got together), but I don't remember it. They were off to Hawaii or cruising to Alaska or making the Mexicans laugh! About the only time to visit was to travel with them.

As Phyl's health deteriorated, they began to stay closer to home ... and doctors. Last weekend Jack called us all to come say good-bye to her while we still could ... but he is the one we lost. We're not ready.
Sitting here, it feels like they are just over at Charlie and Kathy's, or someplace, and I'm waiting for them to get home. It still hasn't really sunk in. Even if Grani Phyl gets well enough to be moved to the Catskills, she can't live in the motor home any more, not without Jack.
Last November, Shana and I were here in Wildwood at Grani & Jack's as a jumping off point for our ride to the Keys. Now, I am prepping their home for sale. Sad.
