No water! All I got at the bathroom sink was a gurgle. This requires investigation. One of my housemates discovered a loose wire, with evidence of electrical arching, on the pressure switch. Service call! My plumber, Phil, is great. I told him I didn't expect him on a holiday, just wanted to schedule for the following morning, and he came anyway ... and didn't charge extra! A new pressure switch, gauge, and circuit breaker, and I have water again!
Too late for the 100 mile (one way) ride to Cooperstown, but still early enough to take up my brother's invitation to go out on the Hudson. On our way to the boat launch, the toll collector on the bridge tells us we have a flat tire on the trailer! Thom and I stayed with the boat while Alec and Lisa drove back to his house for the spare. I couldn't help but think of Grampa as I watched Alec change the tire. Finally get the Driftwood into the water ... and she threatened not to start!
It all turned out well. We had a nice lunch on the river and watched fireworks, both natural and celebratory, from the river near the Mid-Hudson Bridge. There's more than one way to be in the wind!
