Today was a beautiful riding day! The sky could have been clearer making panoramic shots hazy in the distance. Following Kripplebush and Krumville Roads up to the Ashokan Resevoir, then winding over Mead's Mountain Road out of Woodstock, I couldn't help but think "The Dragon's Tail boasts 318 curves in 11 miles. I've ridden the Dragon's Tail and the roads we have around here are just as challenging, if not more so!" It's days like today that make me happy to have an hour drive to and from work! |
Leaving the office, finishing up the last few errands of the day, Rosie and I came down Ohayo Mountain Road. Both roads offer views looking over the Resevoir, the difficulty is finding a safe spot to pull off to take photographs!

I've been riding now for over 40 years, beginning in the dirt on a Honda SL-70 when I was 12. I always leaned more toward trials riding than racing, but also loved riding the tracks (flat track and motocross) with the guys I came up with when they'd practice (on a Honda Elsinore 125). Our motto then was "If you don't go down you're not riding hard enough!" ... not finding your limits. Archives
