EmaGene has received primary attention this year. She now has 172,000 miles and works hard pulling TowTow around the country. While stopped at the PA Welcome Center in Matamoras last month, I noticed she was leaking fluid from her rear differential. Then, driving over the mountain to Alec's Mechanical, I noticed the "road noise" I had been hearing went away on left hand turns.
While she was getting new front wheel bearings, diff gasket and cover, we decided to order a new rear bumper for her also. Her original was so rotted out that I had taped the lights in place last winter. The tape was coming loose and it was time. Fortunately, Alec is my brother and doesn't mind spending a couple days hanging out with me in his garage!
A warm, rainy day provided the perfect opportunity to grab a bucket of creek water, a soft scrub brush, and climb a ladder to give her a good bath. My ladder isn't tall enough to get up on top of her, so her roof still needs a good scrub, as does her awning. Now two years old, I want to roll on a layer of roof seal also.
Addtionally, she's gotten a bit of touch up paint and her cases polished. I've learned through the years that vehicles get just as jealous of each other as children. If one gets presents, they better all get presents, or they get pouty and uncooperative!
