My little red riding hoodie from Go-Go Gear came yesterday! I won it on a random drawing from facebook for liking their page ... and as it turns out, the designer is one of the women I'm riding to Newfoundland with this summer! |
Hunter, known for their rain boots, offers a pair so similar to my normal riding boots I had to get a pair. It may seem crazy to ride in rubber boots, but as long as I keep my feet away from the pipes, dry boots will be worth their weight in gold! |
I found a relatively inexpensive Toscana Shearling sheepskin vest to wear under my jacket. It fits well over the hoodie, though I'm not so sure about both layers under my jacket. Adding key rings to the tie strings on one side, and zipper pulls on the other, gives me a secure quick-clip closure without the bulk and fuss of tying the strings.
The one significant piece still missing from my "Newfoundland wardrobe" is some kind of warm, waterproof pants to wear under my chaps. There is still some time to test and refine combinations and see how they ride.
