This is a good day to get people together! I wouldn't call it a party ... well, that depends on your definition of "party", just my housemates, my brothers and their ladies. The majority of us with an interest in motorcycles.
Ribs, pasta salad, peach cobbler, chocolate peanut-butter cake, guiness bread, coffee, tea, wine and beer. The feast began to the TV background of "On Any Sunday", bringing back memories of when we first started riding.
As "The World's Fastest Indian" began, focus (as we all pulled out our "readers"!) shifted to the conversation piece of the evening ... American Throttle. What better way to amuse a bunch of bored bikers than a cross country poker run with stops at the major rallies? Throw a bit of silliness and trivia into the mix and soon everyone was talking, laughing and telling stories!
The final scenes of "Easy Rider" were playing as the game finished. There had been no winners pot, keeping it about the ride rather than the destination. We all had a good time and were surprized at how late it had gotten. Let's do it again next month!
