Winter seems to be waiting to hit us here in Ulster County NY this year! I still see bikes out almost every day! Of course today (my day off) was wet, overcast, and gloomy. I appease my desire to ride by creating this journal of my previous tours. It inspires me to plan rides for next season and helps me to realize things I want to do different.

I finally resolved the flow problem, making it easier to "turn" pages. At the bottom of each page of the National Parks Tour is an animated rider that is a link to the next page. Each page is still linked from the index to make it easy to go to a specific page at any time. Let me know what you think!
I had a scare last night ... I thought I lost the whole website! I'm not sure what the glitch was, but it's fixed now. Thank you Weebly for quick resolution!
In the meantime, I am doing away with the drop down menu for the 2010 IBA National Parks Tour. It gets too confusing to be able to access some pages from the drop down menu and have to go to the index page to access others, better to just have to go to the index for all of them ... at least for now. I have reached the point, at Day 15, where the drop down menu is beyond reach. I had hoped that it would begin to show in columns. No such luck! This is where it becomes necessary to go to the index from the 2010 IBA National Parks Tour header. The page for each day is linked from there. My apologies that it adds an extra step when wanting to just go to the next page. With about 70 pages total to this ride journal it seems, at this time, an unavoidable detour. It is my hope that you will find it interesting enough to take the time!
It seems I'm making some progress. I've got the ride info up for the Adirondack Park Pin Ride from 2009 ... and the beginnings of the IBA National Parks Tour from 2010. Don't forget the Main Page is the link you see at the top and the drop down menu shows sub-pages!
I realized looking at someone else's site that a bit more info than just "Day ..." is needed when wanting to go back to a specific page. For this reason each page is linked from the index page as well. In addition, each page has a link to the National Park Service page for that site. Enjoy ... and leave me comments about what you think! _I've been looking for a means to share my rides with everyone who has asked. I'm trying out this site to see how well it suits my needs. Please be patient as I get ride info written.
There are aspects of the blog format that I like, and others I'm not so happy with. I'll keep experimenting. |

I've been riding now for over 40 years, beginning in the dirt on a Honda SL-70 when I was 12. I always leaned more toward trials riding than racing, but also loved riding the tracks (flat track and motocross) with the guys I came up with when they'd practice (on a Honda Elsinore 125). Our motto then was "If you don't go down you're not riding hard enough!" ... not finding your limits. Archives
