I text Deb in Saugerties. She has her hands full for the day. I go that way frequently for work, so, not this time.
My brother in Newburgh is on his way to work, and I went that direction last week.
South toward my son's ... Cragsmoor? On the way, Irish Cape Road piques my interest, and I notice the old Napanoch school house is now the "Wawarsing & Knife Museum" There's something for the to do list! After puttering up through Ulster Heights, I find myself circling the Rondout Resevoir on Routes 55 and 55A.
While the resevoir was being built, my great-grandmother, Mabel Brown Phillips, was successfully instrumental in getting all the graves moved to the present location of the Grahamsville Cemetary (where she is buried).
Perhaps it is the familiarity that keeps me from stopping to take photographs. It is beautiful! As with so often, my thoughts turn to the people I would love to show the area to.
